COVID-19 Testing Resources

COVID-19 Testing is currently available for low to no cost to you. There are several options available, depending upon how quickly you need a test. Some of these options can be found at COVIDtests.gov.

Every U.S. residential household is eligible for 4 free COVID-19 at-home test kits. Orders can be placed at USPS’s testkit order page. These are nasal swab tests with rapid results.

As a South Dakota resident, you can also have a no-cost COVID-19 saliva testing kit sent to your home with lab testing. You can order this test at South Dakota’s page on Vault Health. You will need a residential South Dakota mailing address, an email address, a photo ID, and be able to make a Zoom call during the sample collection.  On the site link, you can get more information on how the test kit and testing works.

There are also other at-home testing options, such as through LabCorp OnDemand. Their billing options are through your insurance, utilizing federal funds with your answers to a clinical guideline survey, or paying by credit card. Their test is with a nasal swab collection with lab testing.

If you need to be tested more immediately, you can find a testing location near you by visiting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) site on locations.

You can find additional information on getting reimbursement for COVID-19 testing, or how to obtain a test for free, even if you do not have insurance at the cites for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and for HHS.

You can also read the press release of the Biden-Harris Administration efforts to expand Americans’ access to free testing at the CMS.gov Newsroom.
