FCC Closed Captioning Public Comments

The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) through its Media Bureau is seeking public comments, to refresh the record on proposed rules intended to make closed captioning display settings readily accessible to individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing. For further information from the Media Bureau, please see https://www.fcc.gov/document/media-bureau-seeks-refresh-record-closed-captioning-rules, which has links to the Public Notice in several formats, including PDF. Comments are due 30 days after the release of the notice from January 10, 2022, making comments due by February 9, 2022.

To submit a comment, you can go to https://www.fcc.gov/ > Proceedings & Actions > Electronic Comment Filing System (ECFS) > Submit a FILING > Express Comment. Then type “12-108” in the box for Proceeding(s). It should say: “12-108 | MEDIA BUREAU AND CONSUMER AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS BUREAU SEEK COMMENT ON SECOND VPAAC REPORT: USER INTERFACE…” After selecting the proceeding, you can fill out the form, including all required information, and go through the submission process. If you want an email confirmation sent to you at the end, make sure to check that box above the Continue to review screen button.
